Each year club members and volunteers provide book bags for children who might otherwise not have school supplies to start the academic year. These bags are filled with grade-appropriate school supplies and notes of encouragement written by our members.
This is just one of the projects the club operates to provide basic and enhanced educational opportunities for children in the local communities within Pinellas County. Club Foundation donations (below left) are received directly in The Rotary Club of Clearwater East Foundation, Inc., funds. The foundation is a 501(c)3 charitable foundation, registered with the State of Florida.
Other club projects include Student of the Month achievement awards, school clothing, including uniforms as needed, teacher supplies and financial support for families who are facing a crisis.
Our foundation was started in 1986 by members of the Clearwater East Rotary Club. Every club member is a member of the Foundation. There is a separate Foundation Board of Directors and officers are elected annually.
Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY) donations are forwarded to Rotary International Foundation, Inc. in the name of the donor.
